Noam Chomsky on Anarchism, Elections, Human Disposition, and the Young Marx [Part 3/6]

Posted by Kyle Madison on May 2, 2010

I head over to MIT from Toronto to meet my hero, my maker, the intellectual demigod, Noam Chomsky, to have a brief talk about Anarchism and miscellaneous topics. I apologize for the excessive stuttering, I was probably more nervous and intimidated than I had ever been in my entire life. Poor technology means poor audio quality, and inconsistent clips. =( 3/6 Recording Date: February 13th, 2009.

“intellectual demigod” is a really good term to define Chomsky!

my intellectual demigods are Karl Marx and Kalashnikov, unfortunately I won’t be able to meet them because one is dead and the other is 90 :D

Well said. Unfortunately, at least here in Britain, the answer seems to be to build more prisons and lock more people up at huge cost to the tax payer and more importantly to society.

It’s a shame more people don’t look at the problem of crime more rationally and recognize the roots of social problems, usually based on social conditions (though not discounting personal responsibility), rather than directing hatred, racism, or intolerance towards others.
